About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to join our Cyber Security Operations team on the Sunshine Coast. The role will see you responsible for enabling effective and efficient security capabilities for Youi and contributing new ideas and solutions that continue to support the ongoing growth of the business.

At a high-level, your key daily activities will include:

  • Supporting, upholding and informing the Organisational Information Security Policies
  • Administration, support and incident response of the following security technology platforms:
    • Enterprise WAF
    • Antimalware
    • SIEM platform
    • DLP platform
    • Internet Proxy
  • Work with your peers in Cyber Security Operations when security anomalies are observed and flagged at a security platform level
  • Identify security threats or vulnerabilities and work to implement proactive fixes and improve processes
  • Regularly researching, exchanging and interpreting information, logs and evidence with your security peers
  • Informing and improving team and departmental security playbooks and processes
  • Scripting to automate security processes

About You

  • An analytical mind, attention to detail, and an aptitude for 'problem-solving'
  • You have a strong ability to collaborate with security peers, third-party security partners, developers, GRC and business stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills that allow you to explain complex ideas to a diverse range of colleagues and effectively document activities, evidence, and processes
  • You are committed to keeping up to date with the latest security threats and solutions

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (or related Computing field) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Security Engineer within an Enterprise environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the administration and support of enterprise-level security technology platforms for example:
    • WAF solutions, preferably F5 ASM
    • Antimalware (Workstation and Server)
    • SIEM platforms, ideally SPLUNK
    • DLP platform, preferably Symantec
    • Internet Proxies
  • Solid familiarity and experience supporting Windows, Linux and Apple MAC environments and related environmental Enterprise Frameworks: AD, DNS, DHCP, Modern Web Applications and Web Application Security
  • General familiarity around the role and function of Enterprise Security devices including CDN’s, Firewalls, IPS, Load Balancers, Routers, Switches
