About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Legal Counsel within our Legal Department. Reporting to the Head of Legal and as part of a small and dedicated team, you will work closely with the business to advise on all legal matters and ensure legal and regulatory compliance. This is a pivotal role where you will have the opportunity to have a real impact on Youi’s success.
It is a role that will enable to get involved early at an exciting stage of Youi’s growth and the growth of the Legal Function.
Assist Head of Legal in improving and developing the Legal Function within Youi, including setting up legal frameworks
Advise on all legal and regulatory matters
Prepare and review contracts and legal documents
Communicate and negotiate with internal and external parties (regulators, public authority etc.)
Manage external counsel
Skills & Experience
LL. B and GDipLegalPrac (or equivalent)
4-8 years post admission experience (in-house experience preferable)
Unrestricted Queensland Practising Certificate (or equivalent) or ability to obtain one
Corporate and/or financial services exposure
Excellent understanding of corporate law, financial services regulatory framework, and consumer law
High level of integrity and professional accountability
Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills in Word and Excel
